Bunny Body Language (Resting Positions), By Makaila Odoom

Rabbit Resting Positions

1. The flop

Definitely one of the cutest positions, Flopping occurs when rabbits are extremely relaxed and comfortable in their environment. Don't be worried if you see your rabbit in this position. It is a very good sign that they enjoy living in their habitat. It may look like this:

2. The loaf

Loafs occur often when your bunny is just chilling. The position definitely lives up to its name. They get into this position by putting their legs under their body, similar to cats. Don't worry, their arms haven't disappeared. ;)

3. Sleeping Standing Up

When your bunny sleeps standing up, they are very aware of their surroundings.  This is one of their defense mechanisms, keeping them for letting their guard down. It gives them the ability to get away from predators fast if needed. They don't sleep like this for long periods of time. You can tell that they are sleeping because of their relaxed expression and untwitching nose.

Thanks to my rabbit, toffee, for providing examples! 😘
