Foster Friends, Chapter 3, By Makaila Odoom

 Chapter 3

A Little Help From My Sister

Hey, Abby!” I whisper-yell when we get home.

“What?” She asks.

“Come up to my room I want to ask you something.”

“What! You want me to come to your room?”

“Yes.”

“YAY!!!.”

We march upstairs to my room.

“What is it? ,” Abby says, putting her hands on her hips. She hops onto my bed and starts jumping up and down.

“Do you want a dog? And get off my bed.” I say to her.

“Of course silly pants! Why wouldn't I?” I ignore her teasing. She does not stop jumping on my bed.

“Do you remember that building down the street? The one that opened last week?” I say. Abby snorts.

“Are you trying to make a rhyme?” She asks.

“Abby, listen!” I exclaim, annoyed. “So,” I continue. “It’s an animal shelter called Sunrise Animal Friends, and kids can group volunteer, so I was thinking…”

“Go on,” Abby prompts.

“I was thinking me, my friends, and you could volunteer!” I burst out.

“What about Lilly?” Abby asks. Lilly is Abby’s best friend. “Her too,” I say. “But we have to come up with a group name…I’m not sure, but we can figure that out later,” I say.

Abby shrugs. ”Sounds good to me, Katie!” Abby giggles.

I raise an eyebrow. “Are you trying to rhyme now?” I ask.

Abby grins.

“So we can tell your friends about that, later, at the party! Perfect!” Abby says.

“And you can tell Lilly and your friends. Thank you for helping me!” I reply.

Although she didn’t really do anything…well, it’s the thought that counts.

Abby beams.
